Feeling Stressed? 3 Ways to transform your stress level despite of the outer circumstances.
First Step: Are you breathing? Really, I mean deep full belly breaths that fill your abdomen up with air pushing it down and out. This is called Buddha belly breathing. This is the simplest way to decrease your stress hormone level. It is ancient knowledge, simple and profound in its impact.
Here is the method: Breath only through your nose. Take deep breaths without controlling the timing or length of each breath. Let the diaphragm move downward and fill the abdomen with air. Then exhale letting the diaphragm move naturally back up while your abdomen empties.
Second Step: Ask yourself this question. Is this project or task or situation really that important in the long run? If I died tomorrow would this really make all the difference? Is it possible to be actively calm and calmly active? Can I still perform my duties without the level of stress? Our feelings are a product of our thoughts. So change your thought. “I can accomplish this without any stress at all.” And then fake it till you make it!
Third Step: Make sure you are focusing on one thing at a time. Finish each step before you move on to the next. “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.”
So remember, one deep breath, one calm thought and one action step at a time! All is well, and all will turn out well.
